The first commandment in the Bible clearly states that you should obey your parents so that you may prosper.
Ephesians 6:1-3 - Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother"-which is the first commandment with a promise-"so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."

Proverbs 23:13 - Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish them with the rod, they will not die. Proverbs 22:6 - Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
Matthew 19:14 - Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Ephesians 6:4 - Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Ezekiel 18:20 - The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parents, nor will the parent share guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them.

Meaning:
States that parents should pray for their children, no matter what the situation. A child that is prayed for, is safe, even if the child doesn't pray for him-/herself
A parent that loves his/her child, shall discipline him/her, no matter what their circumstance is. But do not over do it. Children, please listen to your parents when they try to discipline you, because it's their job to discipline you, and your job is to obey them. It's a command from God to our parents to discipline us. I know we don't like it at all. Be real . . . who does? Even our parents are disciplined all the time
Parents, raise your children in a Godly home, so that they will know the right path from the start
If the child sins, the parent will not be punished for their sin. And so otherwise as well
