I read the following: (graceinthemoment.wordpress.com)
"Life is a dance in many ways. Some of us stumble at the slightest change in tempo. Some of us are so busy that we miss the opportunity to dance to the music - the music that comes when our hearts are in tune with our Creator's heart."
When I think of the dance of our lives, I think of two types of dances - the Boogie and the Waltz. Rock/Pop vs. Classical. Now, if I have to picture God dancing, I can't imagine Him "hitting a move" on a boogie tune. I rather imagine Him in a suit on a dance floor perfecting a waltz. Beautiful and elegant.
The problem in life, however, is that when dancing with God, we so often find ourselves boogieing while God is waltzing

A waltz is a smooth progressive dance, characterized by long, flowing movements, continuous turns and rise & fall. Gracefully and elegantly waltz dancers glide around the floor almost effortlessly. The tempo is slow at best, but the expressive quality of the music often invites very powerful and dynamic movement from dancers.
A waltz is a favourite for a couple's first dance on their wedding night - the husband leading the wife. We, too, are God's bride and we should allow Him to lead us in the dance of our lives. He knows when to move, turn, sway, rise & fall and more importantly, when to wait. Too often we want to take matters into our own hands and we forget that God knows what's best.
Psalm 139:13-16 - Oh yes, You shaped me first inside, then out; You formed me in my mother's womb. I thank You, High God - You're breath taking! Body and soul, I am marvellously made! I worship in adoration - what a creation! You know me inside and out, You know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, You watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before You, The days of my life all prepared before I'd even lived one day.
Yes, sometimes life gets difficult and we have to make powerful and dynamic movements, but the more we learn to follow God's lead, the more graceful the dance of our life becomes and the more beautifully it is executed. He is with us every step of the way, He will guide us and pick us up when we fall, we just have to learn to trust Him.
Luther van Dross sings the following (Dance with my father) and I think that is what God is singing to us:
If I could get another chance
another walk
another dance with you (Him)
I'd play a song that would never ever end
How I'd love love love
to dance with my child (Father) again
God is reaching out His hand, asking: "Shall we dance?!"
Do you accept the invitation to dance with your Father again?!
