PENCIL AND ERASER – Easter message
Pencil
“I’m sorry”
Eraser
“For what? You didn’t do anything.
Pencil
I’m sorry because you got hurt because of me. Whenever I made a mistake, you’re always there to erase it. But as you make my mistakes vanish, you lose a part of yourself. You get smaller and smaller each time.
Eraser
That’s true. But I really don’t mind. You see, I was made to do this. I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong. Even though one day, I know I’ll be gone and you’ll replace me with a new one, I’m actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying. I hate seeing you sad.
I found this conversation between the pencil and eraser very inspirational. Parents and Friends are like the eraser, whereas their children/you are the pencil. They’re always there for their children/friends, cleaning up their mistakes.
Sometimes along the way, they get hurt, and become smaller/older, and eventually pass on or move on. Though their children/friends will eventually find someone new (spouse/friend), but parents/friends are still happy with what they do for their children/friends, and will always hate seeing their precious one worrying, or sad.
There’s 2 ways to look at this:
Our Parents are always ready to stand in for us when we make mistakes. They pray for us. They stand between us and God, and that takes bits out of them while they try to lead us to God.
Proverbs 1:8
Jesus is our Eraser. He’s our Father. Just as our parents want to erase our wrong doings, Jesus wants to erase our mistakes. That’s why He died on the cross for us. That took bits out of Him. So don’t you want to thank Him for the bits you took out of Him on the cross? Thank Jesus for this Easter! Because without “Easter” where would we be??????
Isaiah 53:5-6
Matthew 27
2 Corinthians 5:15
